Revitalised
in the last couple of years, the ashram had borne the brunt of many years of neglect
and decay. This resulted in a run down condition of the area surrounding the temple,
encroachment and a general decay of the environment.
Pre-Renovation
Post-Renovation
The upgradation included a careful repainting
of the temple and creation of a plaza around it, with acceptable stone pattern
flooring, as well as relocating various shops and other encroachments into sensitively
designed alternative spaces. The
surrounds of the ashram have changed drastically and the open plaza now takes
care of the thousands of devotees who visit the temple. The second phase of upgradation
was for the hot water springs of the temple premises. This improved not only the
planning and the aesthetics, but also the hygiene of the area. With a burgeoning
population, places of religious worship have to be planned and maintained down
to the smallest detail, otherwise rapid decay and degradation will take place
as is already happening in several religious centres all over India.
