had drawn inspiration from aging paint, coming out of the wall, this time a ladies leather purse thrown on the floor is a source of inspiration.

                          Shilpa has a rare ability to understand the space and then she slices it into pieces by creating space within the space. "Less thinking and more spontaneity is basis of my work," says Shilpa.

                         The leather purse lying on a open floor moved me on, the leather bag represents an uterus and the floor around became the suspended space. Slowly I could see the hands, the fingers, the heads, the legs, the eyes, and the hair all around suspended from the sky.

                        Shilpa has not spared any colour while creating her new series, the womb lying on the floor itself is an example of profound imagery that Shilpa has with her. The artist in Shilpa works at her subconscious, therefore, she can reject easily the traditional forms and compositions which otherwise could have resulted into decorative class of paintings. She creates new forms and extraordinary blend of colours and compositions, which keep on slicing the space on the canvas. Therefore her paintings remain live and full of life energy.

                       The light and shadow romance that she freely allows in specially created space is the added dimension of her work.

                       "Traditional symbolism is no meaning for me" ---says Shilpa.
